1 out of 5 stars I regret buying this product   September 3, 2010

I have not been happy with this router. I had the 802.11 g version of this product and it worked perfectly. I replaced it due to a lightning strike during a storm zapping the cat 5 input. The problems I'm having a difficulty connection initially, periodically runs slower than my previous router, and them it will just kick you off wireless and hard wired, which has caused my son to rewrite a few homework assignments. By the Belkin in the same price range.

3 out of 5 stars Might not work with some drivers...   August 31, 2010

When I received this router it was great, easy setup and security. I tried to connect several of my computers one that had a dlink N adapter which I hooked up to it first and I got blazing fast speeds out of the box. The only problem is that some of the other wireless cards wouldn't connect but it worked with my primary so I stayed with it.

4 out of 5 stars So far so good   August 30, 2010

I kept having problems with my wireless signal dropping so I purchased the DIR-615 to replace my DIR-624, even though I wasn't sure what was causing the drops. The DIR-615 was pretty easy to configure, but I wasn't able to get a connection once it was configured. I finally figured out the reason was that I had WEP security encryption on my computers and the WAP on the router. Once I resolved that I was able to get connected. Please note, you don't get the N signal strength unless you use the WAP 128-bit security encryption. I still had problems with dropped signals. Again, I wasn't sure what was causing the drops. I ended up moving the modem and router from my garage (I have a computer out there) to the house, where I installed a new telephone jack (there was no convenient phone jack located in the house previously), and so far we haven't had any drops, the signal strength is great even on the garage computer, (the network adapters on all three computers are still Gs), and all is good. The DIR-624 came as H/W Ver E1 F/W Ver 5.00NA, which is the most current firmware.

5 out of 5 stars A really great product   August 29, 2010
Dale C. Gildemeister (Fairfield Glade, TN USA)
I have not always been a fan of D-link products, but this router certainly convinced me that their products have greatly improved. It installed like a breeze and carried a strong wireless signal much farther. This is what we needed. The other router we had would not carry the signal through all the walls we needed to go through. Very happy with the product and the price as well.

1 out of 5 stars A NIGHTMARE indeed!   August 27, 2010
Adam (Chicago, IL)
I use Windows 7 and have my laptop wirelessly hooked up to the router and cable modem. Every half an hour my wireless connection gets lost, I can troubleshoot it using Windows Diagnostics but it is just incredibly annoying to the point where I am considering throwing this piece of junk out. I tried customer support via phone which is time-consuming and did not get me anywhere. I deeply regret purchasing this product and will NEVER buy anything D-Link!!! In fact, my connection was just lost while writing this review, this is a joke. $50 wasted, lots of frustration, just hope the next router will be better.
